Join STL City Collage, with generous support from the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, as we amplify the visions and voices of Black artists in St. Louis. We are seeking compelling collage submissions, both analog and digital, that reflect the diverse experiences of our community. This exhibition will utilize traditional installations as well as immersive projections to showcase the power and innovation of contemporary collage.

Submission Deadline: April 4, 2025 11:59 PM
Artist Eligibility: Open to Black artists residing in the St. Louis Metro area 18+
Mediums Accepted: All forms of analog and digital collage accepted.
Notification of Selection: Selected artists will be notified by Monday, April 7, 2025. Artists will be responsible for delivery and pickup of their artwork.
Sales: Artists will be responsible for managing their own sales and will retain 100% of those sales.
Copyright: Artists retains copyright of their work. The exhibit organizers reserve the right to photograph and utilize images of submitted artwork for promotional and archival purposes.
Submission Requirements:
Artists name and contact information
Brief artist bio & statement (no more than 150 words each)
1-3 work samples including titles, medium & dimensions
Please title each file LastName_FirstName_Sample#.FileFormat
(ex. LastName_FirstName_1.jpeg, LastName_FirstName_2.png, etc)
.JPEG, .PNG, .TIFF are accepted. Images should be of high resolution and clear quality.
Submission Guidelines:
We are accepting both ready-to-hang physical artwork and digital images for projection onto the venue walls.
Physical Artwork Submissions:
Ready-to-Hang: All physical artwork must be wired for hanging and ready for installation. Framed artwork or stretched canvas preferred.
Size/Weight Restrictions: The maximum width of any artwork, including framing, must not exceed 30 inches (30"). Artwork must not exceed 10lbs.
Media: All forms of collage are accepted, including mixed media collage.
Condition: All submitted artwork must be in excellent condition. Damaged or poorly presented work will not be accepted.
Delivery and Collection: Artwork must be delivered to the venue on Friday, May 9, 2025 4-6 PM. Alternate arrangements must be made at least 24 hours before. Artwork may be collected by the artist after the exhibition on Saturday May 10, 2025 8-8:30 PM or Monday May 12, 2025 9-11 AM
Liability: While every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of artwork, the organizers are not responsible for loss or damage. Artists are responsible for their own insurance. The organizers will take reasonable precautions to protect the artwork.
Digital Image Submissions (for Projection):
Accepted File Formats: .JPEG, .PNG, .TIFF files will be accepted.
Image Quality: Images should be of high resolution and clear quality to ensure optimal projection. Blurry or pixelated images will not be selected.
